60,000 Cumulative Acres of Wildfire in California

Heightened concerns have been hitting the press the past few days about the extent of total acreage in California in the process of undergoing wildfire as we speak.  The wildfires are in different locations throughout the state.  There might be other smaller wildfires, so this list is not intended to be the most current nor complete, and does not give containment levels, however gives an idea with what is being contended with.

1- Erskine fire, Kern County, about 36,000 acres burned
2- 7,609-acre Border fire in San Diego County
3- 5,285-acre San Gabriel Complex fire in Los Angeles County’s mountains
4- 7,474-acre Sherpa fire, ... Santa Barbara County
5- Marina fire, Mono County, which broke out north of Lee Vining on Friday, had burned 819 acres
6- Klamath National Forest [mainly in Siskiyou County in northern California], the lightning-sparked Pony fire had burned 2,858 acres
