One day 90% of cars on the road might be self-driving, or a fusion of person driving with self-driving option, or robot driving, remote driving, emergency driving take-over in event of a stroke, and so forth.
August 2016, glimpses of self-driving cars might make us wonder, if the streets were flooded with self-driving cars, what would happen in certain situations in real life.
Let us look at a few questions, that in the soon future solutions will probably be found.
What would happen if a street light were to go out in a busy intersection? What would the self-driving car do?
If an emergency vehicle like a fire truck or ambulance had to get by on a narrow road or busy traffic area, where would the car pull over, would it be somewhere that makes sound sense, especially if others are driving around recklessly?
What if the self-driving car ran out of gas or electric power in a zone of traffic where everyone is driving 55 mph or higher, and there is no pull over space? What would the self-driving car maneuver, where would it go, or would it stop in the middle lane of traffic with the hazards on?
What would happen if an owner of a self-driving car gets car-jacked? Will the car suddenly start driving at a moment you needed it to be still?
