According to the LA Times article published today, conditions as anticipated, '1,000 more California wildfires than usual in 2014, and fire season just started', California is having to contend with a record number of wildfires, a huge jump from last year.

Polar bears, which can travel nearly impossible distances, through the water, and land, and climb vertical heights as if they had a rope pulling them, might be coming from the west.  This means the coast of upper northwestern part of California.
