The mountain lion seen in the photos at the story, indicate that the subject animal is very strong, and seasoned when it comes to interactions.
Advices as to what to do and not to may seem obvious, but since some might be unfamiliar, here are a few:
If you see the animal, call authorities. If the animal is within an eighth of a mile or 150 yards of your house, dial 911. Do not get stuck in wonderment of whether pest control, or environmental services are more appropriate, and what times are they open, let 911 handle that. The reason is because it only takes about 10 to 15 seconds for mountain lion to travel from that distance and be at your front door. From the time you look out your window, to the time you pick up the phone, the animal can close in.
If reports are heard the animal is in your area, lock your doors at night.
Cell and mobile phones, make sure they are charged and can be used.
Street lights out that should not be, report it to the authorities, especially in the framework of the sightings are in your area.
For citizens:
Do not try to feed it
Do not try to pet it
Do not endanger yourself trying to get the closest footage or picture you can
