Black Bear Trouble in Alaska

It appears that there have been one major and perhaps two, at least, black bear attacks on humans in Alaska in as many months dating back from today.
In one of the events, women were actually in process of talking about safety from bear attacks when the animal, ironically, but to those who know animal behavior, substrata these species, not quite that ironic.

The story about the woman at a social event was gleaned about a week ago from a less well known website, it may have been in a language other than English, it is not clear whether it is one in the same with the Ms. Johnson incident.

Recent serious attacks in Alaska:
  • June 19th, a Ms Johnson the victim while doing geology study
  • June 18, 2017, a 16 year male, victim of black bear attack, reference Chugach State Park area

Based on black bear attacks the last several years in the U.S., the best measure for safety is to be completely safe without a shadow of a doubt.  This might not be the only defense, but it certainly helps.

Let it be known that there are other types or descriptions of bears, such as brown, mixed breeds, and so forth, that have also attacked.  There were two incidents on Saturday last week where men were attacked by a brown bears, JBER and and Hope Alaska, fortunately these not fatal.

This article is planned to be supplemented with further details soon.
